Einen Kleist
by Helgard Haug and Daniel Wetzel (Rimini Protokoll)
A Theater project by
The theatre group Rimini Protokoll is viewed as the founder and protagonist of a new kind of documentary theatre. Since 2000 they have been staging their so-called “theatre for experts”, in which lay actors function as “experts in reality”. Text and production develop via an intense process of conception often lasting several months, carried out on the basis of extensive research, castings, interviews and often the biographies and professions of the “performers”.
Following this principle, the group will also develop the theatre project Einen Kleist, which takes the author’s artistic legacy as starting point and “material” for a dramatic contemporary debate.
